Erik Hoffland, our architect is a buddy of mine that I have known for pretty close to 10 years. He has patiently led us through options A through J to settle on the three story (full basement) addition and fairly substantial renovation of the interior.
Our contractor is Hyo Lee, who we met through Monica's work out group who was coincidentally also highly thought of by her coworker, and so far he has been great. Very clear with what is going to happen and when and is dedicated to sticking to both the budget and time line.
The mason, Juan, is the one with the Bobcat and jack hammers and seems to be doing some quick work. He is currently moonlighting as a tree removal specialist while we wait for the city inspector to stop by and clear us to move forward.
We are using Sandy Spring bank as the chief financier for the project, though the current market realities necessitated a very healthy dose of our own money be spent first, so they will probably not factor in to this project until 3 or 4 months in (when we start spending their money).
We currently have openings for interior designer, day care specialist, delivery truck driver and emotional support/marriage counselor (no issues yet, but two moves, two pet relocations, massive cash spending, tile, flooring and appliance selection, etc. may start to drive us crazy).
